But I'm not certain whether it's a bona fide bug (sure seems that way), or if I missed a new setting somewhere, so any insights would still be appreciated. So I can only conclude that this is a ReSharper 10 issue. I've downgraded to ReSharper 9.2 and my woes have disappeared. The problem definitely seemed to coincide with the upgrade to ReSharper 10. The way I manage config files has not changed in a very long time and has always worked fine.
Using the configSource attribute instead of file in does not work either. ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings DOES contain all of the keys from. ConfigurationManager.AppSettings DOES contain otherSetting. ConfigurationManager.AppSettings DOES NOT contain any of the keys from. I only had to adapt a single breaking change in of of your interfaces. First of all: the upgrade process was way easier than the upgrade from R8 to R9. To do that, simply suspend ReSharper as described here and check if performance issues are still present. I was planning to add support for recent searches list (just like in ReSharper's Go To Everything Ctrl+T), as well as immediate search in current file (so you can see occurrences highlighted in editor just like in Ctrl+F). Verifying that slowdown is caused by ReSharper.
Plugin works in 8.x, but experience still sucks comparing to VisualStudio's Ctrl+F. 
Unfortunately, ReSharper 9.x releases were quite stressful for me, I still has no free time to do some work on this plugin.

Navigation APIs are full of breaking changes (in a good directions) in ReSharper 9. As many of you know, ReSharper enhances the behavior of ASP.NET and Visual Studio in general. Plugin was initially made via pure hacks into ReSharper infrastructure. Unfortunately, I still have no free time to finish v2 version of this plugin. Let me clarify the situation with "Go to word" plugin:
